USGBC SC chapter to form Beaufort/Jasper
For those building and design professionals interested in Green Building and living in Beaufort County, US Green Building events are about to get a lot closer. This weekend at the USGBC Green Apple event, the Low Country branch, based out of Charleston, announced it is forming a steering committee to form a sub-group for Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton, and Colleton Counties.

The call the group a "Leaf" as its part of the Low Country "Branch" of the South Carolina Chapter.
Currently the Low Country branch runs monthly educational events predominantly in Charleston and North Charleston, with two events in Beaufort. Hadi Hamid, a Technical College of the Low Country faculty member, is on the Low Country branch board and leading the effort to create both a local leaf and a USGBC student chapter, or emerging green builders, at TCL.
