Its a busy week at Sea Pines
This week, the golf world's eyes turn to Sea Pines Plantation for the RBC Heritage Golf tournament. The attention has spotlighted the ongoing and future construction projects in Sea Pines. Fraser Construction currently is remodeling the Sea Pines Plantation Golf Club and plans to rebuild the Sea Pines beach club later this year.
The Plantation club is a new $15 million two story building that serves the Ocean Course and Pete Dye-designed Heron Point course. The old clubhouse has been torn down, and a new one is scheduled for completion in 2014. It is currently in the concrete structural phase (Pictured Above), with concrete pours being scheduled around tournament traffic.
The Beach club is a new $10 million renovation that will include an indoor restaurant and bar, an open-air beach bar; second-floor space for private receptions and parties, retail and office space, and expanded restrooms, showers and changing rooms. The club will replace the current oceanside club built more than 40 years ago. Work is scheduled to begin this fall and will be completed before year's end.
